World Animations is made with drawings produced on-situ from observations of cityscapes seen from hotel window views. A single freeze-framed viewpoint of each metropolis acts as a stage where the various smaller parts perform. Minimal movements mimic those that were actually witnessed during the making of the work. Long intervals of stillness punctuate time between each of the actions, forcing the viewer to closely inspect the animations in order not to miss them. The human presence is implied rather than seen, as only by-products of man’s existence can be perceived. There is a sense of expectancy, however the narrative is never fully expounded.
